The spectrum of our used woodworking machines ranges from small hand tools to large production lines. While craftsmen are looking for simple saws and fads, industrial companies need powerful panel saws, CNC processing centres, or veneer presses. At Hämmerle, the oldest and one of the most reliable materials in the world meets the most common woodworking machinery. And the best: With a second-hand veneer press or another machine one can save a lot of money.
Woodworking machines most commonly work by removing or cutting material. Of course, there are also shaping machines that preserve the volume and mass of the wood. For example, it is possible to bring the material into the desired shape by using steam pressure. The positive properties of the wood, heat-insulating, and load bearing are retained.
Axes have long been a thing of the past when it comes to cutting down entire trees. Instead, chainsaws and other tools are now used. Various stationary wood sawing machines are used in the sawmill to break the log into pieces that can be processed, for example, machines are circular saws.
Significantly smaller saws are used on construction sites and in workshops. These include circular hand saws, circular saws, sliding table saws, and others. A band saw is the perfect cutting tool to cut wood of almost any width. This type of saw does not use a rotating disc, but a rotating, tensioned saw the band. Saw bands are not as sturdy as circular saws but lower priced.
Fads are another type of woodworking machine. These are used to remove material from solid wood to create a smooth surface. They are considered some of the oldest woodworking machines. As a manual tool, fads are still used in carpenters’ shops and similar workshops. Electrical machines work with a rotating cutting roller. This also applies to industrial devices. With thickness and surface planers or combined machines, large quantities of beams and boards are processed and reduced to a predefined thickness.
The milling machine is another important woodworking machine. It works with a rotating saw head, the design of which determines the milling edge profile. These machines for woodworking are used to mill out individual contours and to produce profiles.
Woodworking involves many additional work processes such as finishing. Here, electrical drills and drilling stations play a superordinate role. Highly efficient drilling stations are suitable to drill random hole patterns into the material. Drills are mostly used in furniture construction. They are, for instance, perfectly suited for chipboard processing.
Dowel wood machines are also in high demand. These machines are used to place dowel wood and pins into holes in the wood. This makes it easier for the end customer to assemble the wooden product. Without these dowel wood machines, but even without drills, so-called ready-to-assemble furniture would not enjoy the same status as it does today.
